Before I begin, I would like to apologize for taking a week off. I was working on a very important project and it took me alot more than I expected. But now that I am back I will be uploading videos as much as I can. starting of course with the requests.
To start things off I will be drawing Black Star. Now I was only given the name Black Star so hopefully I got the right character. When searching the internet for references I got a lot of diversity of images, seeing as this black star had the highest amount of appearence (for the anime catergory anyway). I went ahead and drew this guy. I had heard of Soul Eater before but have not read nor seen the anime until just this week. I gotta say the artwork is interesting. I really liked the halloween motif that the background carries, but like most manga and anime’s these days, it seems to rely alot on fan service (I know that isn’t a bad thing, but I seriously prefer good story to fan service any day). The story isn’t too bad, I guess it is mostly for laughs but I just didn’t get too into it after reading the first volume. I’ll check at least two more volumes and see where it goes from there, after all, most series start off slow and rough until eventually they begin to pick up speed and get amazingly good.
Request by: gloomblastvideo I had this drawing on my old channel and was asked to put it up again. I was supposed to see the anime that this character came from but I never did. I seriously should check it out when I have the chance.
Yesterday I finally got my long awaited Bamboo Manga. I had been waiting for this day very intently. As soon as it arrived I was eager to play with it. Like with many electronic items I had to input the drivers and programs, which was actually rather easy and did not take too long. The only thing I could complain about right away is that I could not use the tutorial at all, I even reinstalled both the Bamboo drivers/programs and also the Adobe applications (which are needed to use the wacom programs). Despite that I did not seem to have any problems at all. There are some preinstalled games in a little application named Bamboo dock (which starts automatically), the games help first time users to get a feel for the pen and the tablet. After all, most people who use such a system for the first time may have a bit of a learning curve at the beggining since it is quite different looking at the computer screen instead of looking down where you would normally be drawing.
There are also some simple drawing programs that can be used. Sure, they are simple but even so, just by seeing how much I could do with just that was amazing.
I know it kinda sucks, but this was my first try at drawing without practicing beforehand. It was made using a picture of “the Mona Lisa” as the background.
You may laugh but please, not too hard.
After finishing installing the programs and playing around with the settings for a couple of minutes I began to draw a couple of things (just figures and lines, as well as playing with the brushes). Eventually when I sort of got the feel for it, I began to draw on Open Canvas Lite (so far I like it more than Corel Painter). Here is the picture below.
When I finish my Yakumo drawing I’ll post it up (Yakumo is my favorite female character on School Rumble by the way, well alongside Eri).
I was actually surprised I would start getting the hang of drawing on the tablet so fast. There are some movements one has to beware of (otherwise the lines one would normally want will be too long, since te tablet is smaller than a normal piece of paper). Other than that it is just like drawing on paper, there are the obvious advantages of course. Like clean erasing and so on. Plus, one can save a lot of money this way as well (not having the need to buy more paint, markers, pencils, etc.) So far I really like it.
[EDIT] 12/22/12
About a year ago I did a quick report of what I thought about my new Bamboo Manga. The reason being that I seriously could not find much information about it online except for the little information Wacom provided on their website. That information was not enough though. And judging by the amounts of visits I get to my page because of this post in question, I assume it is the same for the rest of you.
I had to think quite hard of whether I should buy it or not, in the end I did. Was it worth it? It surprisingly was, it was so responsive I was actually really surprised. But of course there are some aspects that one has to get used to of course, such as looking up at the computer screen instead of looking down at your hands while drawing (this was the most challenging aspect I had to go through at the beggining). But luckily we as humans are capable of adjusting, so with practice this feeling does go away.
This video does not go in great depth, but it does provide some more information about the Bamboo Manga. I left out installation processes, as well as some real tests to see just how much one can bring out of the tablet. But the artwork in the box does give one a glimpse of what is possible if one practices dilligently enough. If you, the viewer, ask me to go into even more details about how to customize the button options, go through the installation and setup process I might consider it. But this should be a good amount of information for now.
If you happen to have any more questions go right ahead and ask.
Although I have not seen nor read the series I know it is quite popular. Back when I was in high school I remembered seeing a lot of these books and also many posters on some of my favorite manga. I was asked to draw Nana, but after going through the internet and finding out a bit about the series I found out that the two main characters are named Nana. I truly hope that I chose the right character, if not then I apologize to key1197. It seems that they differentiate themselves by nana and hachi so I truly hope I drew the right person.
The scene I decided to use seems to be all over the internet and I am pretty sure it comes from one of the pages of the manga. So as to differentiate it a bit and make it my own I decided to change a couple of small things (mostly the hairstyle).
For today’s drawing, we will be drawing Katara a character from a series named Avatar the last airbender. I hear it’s really famous and popular. I changed the style a little, hope you guys don’t mind.
It seems that the Vocaloid craze has been growing and growing these past few months. If one thought that the selection of Vocaloids was already big, then think again. The numbers just keep increasing, Yuzuki Yukari is one fo the new additions to the cast. And truthfully at first glance I became a fan. Her style and color scheme are amazing + adorable. Just today I went and looked for some of her videos and to my surprise she has gotten rather popular (but that’s to be expected). There’s something about cute bunny girls that I find to be a bit unresistable, dont you think?
Sorry to everyone that stops by. This is actually taking a lot longer than I thought it would. Alot of new procedures were implemented as I started to skim through the layout and the files on my computer. I am almost done sorting everything out so it will take only a bit more time.
First off, if you have not seen Gosick, then I advise that you do so. This anime is really enjoyable. For starters I am a sucker for detective theme stories so when I started watching it I was hooked. Plus it also helped that we had a mini (reference to her small size) -detective girl who solves crimes that the real authorities can’t even get a hold of. And to make things better we get another interesting character into the mix. A Japanese boy, who unlike most other stories, does not possess any special skills but somehow still manages to be really helpfull in solving the cases. Example; picking up Victorique when she cannot reach a book or a piece of evidence, yes she is that short. When both these characters are combined, something magical takes shape. Plus it also helps that Victorique adds to the list of cute tsundere charaters of anime.
Solid Snake, probably the coolest old guy ever. I seriously wanted to work on some hard lines especially in the face, and what better way to do that then to use one of the most iconic old mans we have seen so far in gaming history. The Metal Gear series truly deserves all the recognition it has acquired so far. The game play is extremely interesting and fun, plus the story is really well made. Although some of the evenths of the last title of Metal Gear made it seem like the saga was over, I have read some interviews where Hideo Kojima mentioned that the story might advance a bit more. Hopefully that will happen, after all it would be awesome to see Snake hiding under a box at least one more time.
Today is a very special day. I have finally managed to find a good amount of music that will not give me any problems with youtube (unless they make some dumb mistakes, which they have done to pretty much all users). So I will go back to the origins of my old account and make the videos shorter without any instructions on the video. But like always, if you guys have any questions what so ever, let me know.
On this video we will be drawing one of my favourite characters from Touhou … Marisa Kirisame. I’ve been really wanting to draw her so I made sure to do so this time. I found this really cool reference of her and decided to go with that. I seriously like the colors and the style of the drawing overall so taking a go at it was really fun. I have to say this has got to be one of my best drawing so far. I am seriously surprised at the quality of the color I managed to create (especially since I haven’t really taken the time to practice my coloring). I seriously greatful to the creator of the orginal piece, right now Bampai Akira is probably my favourite artist. The way he draws and the colors he uses and doesn’t use is definitely that of a master. Anyway you can see the original piece here: http://www.zerochan.net/73526
And the reference I used for the pose was found here:
Like in my previous videos I took the original and a cosplayer to change the drawing and make it my own. But unlike with my Kairi drawing, I did not change the character into a real life version (since I like the original one so much). Let me know what you think.
Modern Warfare 2 was the game that first introduced me to the new generation of first person shooter games (the first would probably be 007 Golden Eye). I really enjoyed the both the story and the gameplay, not to mention all the memorable characters especifically Ghost. I don’t know, there is just something about him tha makes him so cool and a favourite among alot of fans. I don’t know what it is about him that makes him this way. Maybe it’s just his mask, or maybe it’s his cool english accent, heck it could just be because he would have our backs throughout most of the game. Although I believe it has alot to do with the scene where we both fight our way through hordes of enemies only to be killed and burned together (kind of like those bloodbrothers you see in novels or movies). Whatever the reason, Ghost is cool and let’s just leave it at that.
If and when I do another drawing from Modern Warfare, I am thinking about drawing Roach so I hope you look forward to that.
For this video I recommend listening to: “Betrayal – Ghosts Fate”
