Inktober 2021 Day 25

This one took a while, and it’s still not done. I remembered that in Pokemon there were three legendry’s that possesed the power of wind and thunder and a third one. I had done a bit of research at the time and learned that they were based on three Japanese Kami. Over the years I wanted to make a piece with Misaka and Kongo Mitsuko as Raijin and Fujin. After thinking a bit about Inari and learning that it’s the god of foxes, fertility and a bunch of other things plus it’s the leader of the three Kami I felt that Misaki Shokuhou would best fit this role. For various reasons. This drawing took a while since I couldn’t find readily available information about these three Kami and high resolution images of them. Then, the ones that were available came in so many variations that in the end I just decided to take some artistic liberty for some of the details.

Inktober 2021 Day 11

For day 11 I drew Misaki Shokuhou. I remembered the extra chapter (5.5) where we see her exercising which I found to be extremely cute that she would only do that in secret.

Misaka level 6 shift Project V2

This is an edited version of the battle between Touma and Gunha vs Misaka who has been used for the level 6 shift project. I made the colors a bit darker and more vibrant. I also re painted a couple of areas to add more details, lighting, shadows and changing a couple of details.

Inktober 2020 09 Throw Saki and Saten Kendama

Today I accidently matched with the prompt for today, I didn’t even notice it till I was about to upload it.
Anyway, these past few weeks Saki has been posting videos of her practicing with her Kendama. Meanwhile in To Aru Kagaku no Railgun they finally covered the Indian Poker arc (this season was amazing, kind of a shame that they sort of messed up Index though). I wanted to have them do perhaps some more dynamic moves but I think one where they match each other and are both just chilling and enjoying their Kendama. Time is a bit limited till I finish those three essays so I will have to leave this piece in it’s line art state for now. I’ve been wanting to actually do some more drawings of both Saki and Saten so this was a good excuse to finally do it. More drawings of Misaka’s wingman and Captain will come in the future of course.

Misaka level 6 shift

I’m currently watching the To Aru Kagaku no Railgun T anime. I’m really pleased with it. Unlike with To Aru majutsu season 3, they didn’t rush the series and the animation looks really beautiful. There were a couple of shots that used cgi that were moving a bit too fast and weird at the beginning but it seems they got used to it in the later episodes.

I really like Sogiita Gunha’s character so seeing him fight right next to Touma is amazing. Because this is one of my favourite scenes I decided to paint it.

Surprisingly this piece only took me three days to do. I guess I have been improving…

Misaka-Chu

This drawing was done on the 29th day of inktober 2019. I really like Shiho So‘s artwork. I first discovered it when Night Tempo was using it for his cassette releases. With the linework done it was now just a matter of coloring it in. I really like playing around with these bright pastel colors. Although it looked good just painting Misaka, I wanted to make a background for it that fit. After playing around I started to get different ideas like making it like a manga page with panels. Then I thought I would put in a perverse beastly Kuroko ready to attack. And then things started to flow from there. I used Clip Studio for the manga effects like the screentone and effect lines (what were they called again?). Just when I was about to call it finished I decided to write Misakachu with magenta, and luckily it worked out quite well. The painting it self didn’t take too long to do, it was just the small details and ideas that I came up with along the way that added a couple of hours. Still though, overall it was around 5 hours I think. Not bad. Once I have more practice with this style I should be able to work faster. Which I will do at some point since I really like it.

Misaki Shokuhou Bloomers

This was originally drawn for Inktober 2019 on the 8th day.

I really like pretty much everything about Misaki. Her design, personality and story are great. Plus her relationship with Misaka makes for some great stories. I’m really glad they are finally giving her some screen time in the anime. I really like the way they make her life comedic because of the characters and situations she has to deal with. The way Sogiita Gunha stole the spotlight was hilarious and Misakis’ response made it even better.

Of course Misaki just oozes sexiness so I wanted to do a piece emphasizing that.

The whole painting was progressing smoothly, I was quite surprised. The background was done in just a couple of minutes and Misaki just a couple of hours. But the hair was… I need to practice more with blonde hair, it took way too long.

Misaka and Misaki’s Christmas 2018

How about a Christmas themed painting! (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))

I really like the pairing of Misaka Mikoto and Misaki Shokuhou. The way they banter against each other is really cute, even more so when they have no choice but to work with each other. It was a smart idea to make them both rivals and allies at the same time. Definitely one of the best duos in the series. And seeing as they can hack into all security systems to delete their presence digitally and the power to also erase and manipulate peoples memories they really could get away with any crime. Whenever there are hints that they will pair up again I get really happy.

This painting was actually started last year. But I didn’t finish it on time. It still needed a background after all. So I decided to save it for this year’s Christmas. I was bogged down with other work but I managed to finish the background just in time to maybe even start a new Christmas piece. In any case I had to find a suitable reference picture. The one I found was in portrait mode so I had to make up the rest.

It was painted using my Kuratake Gansai Tambi watercolors and my Nicker Poster Colour paints.
