Aqua, Terra, Ventus “The challenges of the outside world” Update III Final

I’m finally done with my Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep drawing. I had it mostly done a couple of days ago actually. But I decided to hold off on it since I was still unsure of a couple of details. I’m glad I did because I feel I actually made it better. So for one, I added some more details with my color pencils and then I also used a new tool this time. I recently bought a black and white carbon pencil set. They work really well, specially the black one. It’s really soft and dark. Also I can spread it out to my preferences to add shadow effects and darken any colors quickly and efficiently. I really recommend it.

Once I had it all in order I darkened a couple of colors and areas using that carbon pencil I was talking about. After that I noticed that I would be able to produce an effect I was thinking about when it came to Ventus and specially Terra. I wanted to show that darkness was present in both, though it engulfed Terra so I added some black aura/shadows/mist around their bodies. But I also wanted Aqua to remain untouched by it but still in the midst of it since they are her friends and also her responsibility. I’ll talk a bit more about what I wanted to convey through this drawing a bit later. One thing I wasn’t really sure about was Ventus’s hair. I just didn’t like the dark outline at all. So I decided to add a bit of white highlights with my white pen. Luckily it came out rather well. So before I explain anything about it, here are the pictures.

Update + sneak peek

I have another test again… so I have to disappear for a while yet again. Hopefully I can finish it all by today, I really want to work on all the piles of artwork left unfinished.

Any way, here’s a sneak peek to another artwork that will be added to the gallery and will actually complete the set. (I’ll let the drawing do the talking, still unfinished). I actually had this for a couple of month but stuff happened…

I got a bit busy so I wasn’t able to add any updates of this drawing up before today, sorry about that. It is finally going live! But before that I would like to give some back story to this drawing. This drawing was first done about a year ago, I think… sadly for some reason I didn’t put the date in the back. In any case, this is the first drawing to go through a new project that I am working on. Thinking about it, it doesn’t have a name yet does it (the project I mean)? After thinking about it, I will name it “The Restoration Project”. I will be restoring a lot of my old drawings since I just didn’t have the abilities to draw out the full potential of my art at the time. This will only be done on the drawings that actually have a potential of course, this is so I can limit the amount so that I can keep doing some new material.

Now, as for the drawing it self. I have been giving hints of me writing my own story. What I have not said yet is the name of the story. So this will be the first time I will be making this public. The name of the story will be named “Between Light and Darkness”. As of now, I plan on writing this story in three parts. But I do have ideas of what can come after. What does this have to do with this drawing? Well this is a scene inspired by my story using two of the characters that will be in it. The girl is named Ame Makenshi and the boy is named Obscurus Nube. I want to make the story a bit original, but like most stories this has to do with a guy who has feelings for a girl. This scene is of them in a  Halloween party. Ame is getting a picture taken and Obscurus is caught in the background staring at her. I’m sure this has happened to most people at some point right? So what do you guys think? Does the drawing look better?

Obscurus and Ame ‘Halloween’ + Update

I will be updating the website pretty soon, sorry I had to take care of some things on my end before I could come back to finish the construction of the website. I will be adding some more artwork to the “gallery” and updating the “prices“. So I hope you guys look forward to that.

Anyway I want to do something a bit different. I have a lot of old artwork that is actually pretty good, but I need to color it in better and polish it over all. So I will be doing that with a couple of drawings. We will start with the one below. Since it is October I felt it fitting for the season (more on the drawing later).

I finally managed to finish my Hatsune Miku drawing. So this is what I manged to do with it.

The first one has some color pencil added to the background and a bit on Hatsune Miku. On the second one I added a bit more color to Miku’s skin and added a couple of light effects coming from the sun. I was surprised at how easy I was able to pull it off, the rainbow glare effects came out quite well. Also, I added some lighting to Miku’s eyes and some glowing effects around Miku’s body. One thing I did not like about how she looked before was her face. I didn’t really like some of the features so I decided to soften them and change a couple of things like her left eye. I feel she looks better now.

I wonder what name I should give this drawing? Anyway, what do you guys think?

Hatsune Miku Update II

As promised, here is the next update to the current artwork that I am working on right now. This is only the base with some shadows added. This was done with both water colors and Copic markers. Now I am in the final stages. What I will do now is add some more colors with my color pencils. And that will be my final step, so next time it should be the final piece.

XERO DRAWING – Godzilla x Gypsy Danger PART II

I’ve finally gotten done with this drawing! It took quite a long time. It took a total of about 17 hours and 8 minutes. The longest so far (I think). In any case, I’ll probably make a couple of slight modifications like adding more details to it before I add it to deviant art.

I made the drawing with them at the start of the conflict but ready to go with their strongest attack. I also wanted to try out a couple of new techniques, so I decided to make the scene dark, something I rarely do. Over all I am satisfied with how it turned out, but I also feel that if I were to do this again it would look at least a bit better and cleaner since I have a better understanding of the process I have to take to make certain effects like on the water, or making light.

As for who I like more? Obviously Godzilla. I seriously enjoyed the Pacific Rim movie specially because it was done by a paisano but, Godzilla has a lot of sentimental value to it. And I enjoyed the Heisei movies more (even though they were a bit cheesy at times). This goes for who would win in a fight as well by the way.

XERO DRAWING – Godzilla x Gypsy Danger Part I

I am actually about half way done painting the drawing, but I had two drawings to do this week so I had no choice but to break it into two parts. For this drawing I wanted to do something a bit different, so I decided to draw Godzilla vs Gypsy Danger. Surprisingly it wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be, but it did take quite a bit of time to draw. And since painting it has a lot of details plus I am also trying out new techniques along the way.

Over all, it looks quite bland without any color or even shading so it looks mediocre. But that will all be fixed on the next segment.
