Dragon Ball Drawing

I have been working on this weeks drawing quite a bit. Wasn’t too shure how to go about coloring. At first I wanted to draw it like a manga page. Meaning black and white, using only my pens. But I decided to instead make it like a color page in the manga and actually color it in. I decided to only use watercolors and my copics (they are really running low right now). I had to think about every stroke so that I didn’t waste any ink. While waiting on the next moves I drew a couple of rough drafts for what may become the next artwork. But that is for another time.

I named the drawing “Goku, Vegeta and the return of F” in commemoration of the new movie that will be coming out soon. I am actually looking forward to it. Even more so than the first one. Hopefully this will be a lot better (seeing as the other one was more of a reintroduction to all the characters). In any case here are some scans of the artwork in the process and the final piece. Wasn’t too sure since I spent quite a bit of time on it, but in the end I decided not to add it to the gallery.

I’m back!

I was gone longer than expected. I had to take care of somethings, I didn’t expect to be gone this long though. What was that, a bit over a month? that took a while huh?.

Anyway, I do not come empty handed. I was working on some artwork, both new and old. I will post them below.

The first one is the To Aru Majutsu No Index drawing I had shown before. I made some modifications to it, and tried to get the actual color from the scan (for some reason whenever I scan my drawings they come out rather faded so I have to correct that). I added a bit more contrast in some areas with my color pencils by adding darker areas and lighter ones. I had originally planned to make this a valentines drawing, but I decided to instead take my time with it and bring forth a good piece. So, here it is.

Misaka and Touma - '... What's wrong BiriBiri' FINAL II RESIZE

The only regret I have is that I made Touma’s hair a bit too long. If you can believe it it was actually longer than it is now. By the time I realized it was too late. But I made the best of it. It’s still a bit too tall but it doesn’t look bad.

Aside from that, I was also working on a couple of rough drafts on the next possible artwork that I will be working on. But here is a peek at the current piece I want to work on right now. I actually started this rough draft yesterday upon hearing news about what the theme of the second Dragon Ball movie will be about. I’m actually really forward to what they will be doing with this one now that they have re-introduced the characters to us in the first one and given us hopes about stronger foes in the future. Anyway, before I get even more sidetracked here is the rough draft.

This is what I am working on at the moment. I’m thinking of trying out a different style with this one though. Minimum colors. That’s all I can think about to describe it. I have used this technique a lot when I first got the hang of drawing with color pencils. I just didn’t know how to use it with backgrounds. But I feel I can finally do it. Anyway, I also have another drawing I want to show off that has already been finished just recently actually. But I will post that tomorrow.

In any case thanks for stopping by, and sorry for disappearing for a while.

To Aru Majutsu no Index Project Update II

I’ve finally finished the final drawing for the To Aru Majutsu No Index drawing. I had to change a couple of things and add a couple of other details. I have to be very careful drawing this because otherwise I will leave indentations on the paper which in turn will ruin the drawing as a whole. So of course the process takes a bit longer and requires quite a bit of effort. But now that it is drawn, I can finally start coloring it. I will get back to you guys soon when I have that ready.

Misaki Ayuzawa 6 Facial Expressions

This video was made to help a youtuber drawing Misaki Ayuzawa’s face. I don’t really have much of an idea in what exactly the I should be explaining. so for that reason I just uploaded the video with little editing. Hopefully this is helpful to the original person that asked for help and to other people.

Adventure Time Final UPDATE

It took quite a bit of work to finish, both with the actual drawing and the coloring that had to be done after. But I made sure to put in all the hours that I could into it so that I could get it finished by today. It was a fun drawing, I remember having a bit of a hard time deciding who to add to the drawing. I wanted to add the main characters for one, but that would be too little. So for that reason I started adding some extra characters so that it wasn’t too lonely but they were characters that I actually liked. Not like that tree trunks.

I wanted to add a bit of life to the party and have everyone doing their own thing. I have Finn and Flame Princess having a tender moment together. Jake being a pig eating all the bread but still being nice enough to share some with Lady. Cinnamon Bun being a dufus and falling while dancing (for some reason I really like this character) I have two characters kind of hidden and lurking in the shadows because they weren’t invited. The most obvious being Lumpy Space Princess. On top of the tree I have Peppermint Butler giving his creepy look as if he has some diabolical plan in motion. In the ground I have BMO dancing and having some fun. The scene I had the most fun doing was with the trio Marceline, Ice King and Princess Bubblegum. I had Ice King being the usual goofy weirdo he usually is by trying to dance with Princess Bubblegum, which if course annoyed and creeped her out (oh yeah I also placed Gunter by Ice King’s side). Meanwhile I had Marceline providing the music for the party while looking warmly at Ice King having fun (Marceline is my favorite character by the way, Ice King being somewhere in the top 3).

This was all colored with color pencils except the actual gang themselves. I colored them with Copics (since they are so small the Copics didn’t have a hard time coloring them despite many of them needing a refill). In some areas I went over with my pens to make some outlines. Bristol and PrismaColor go very well together. Now I just need to buy a blender so that I can make cleaner transitions between colors and areas that go from a color to completely white (meaning just the paper). What do you guys think?

Adventure Time - A Great Time with Friends

Adventure Time IV EDIT RESIZE

Happy New Year! (and an update on the current work)

So the new year has started. Man… time flies quite fast once you have grown up, huh? It’s a bit scary, really. But I will make the most of it and become stronger with each passing year. My goal this year is to become a better artist and to make my art and this site popular so that I can make my name known. Hopefully you guys have had a great year and will have an even better one.

Here’s hoping.

As for the drawing, here is a rough draft and the outlines of the final piece. This will probably take a while since it has a lot of detail. Though at the same time because it is drawn in a cartoon style I get quite a bit of leeway.

New artwork in progress.

I’m currently working on the next artwork. I was a bit unsure on what I should draw, than I remembered of a certain series that I happen to enjoy immensely. I’ve actually finished most of the rough draft already, I just need to add a couple of details. That is all I will say for now. But I will give you guys a hint as to what the theme is this time.

“What time is it!?”

New artwork and Disappearance Explained

Sorry, sorry. I was going to work on some Christmas and Winter stuff, but quite a couple of things piled on. Though this was my fault. I should have been working on some Christmas artwork a couple of weeks before anyway. So that is what will happen next year.

As for this drawing? Well one of the things I was working on last week was this piece for a client. The first official client after deciding to go pro. I got a couple of clients the years before, but again, this is the first official client. I will keep producing some more quality artwork to bring in more people interested in my services. For my first commission I have Katara from Avatar the Last Airbender. As stated before, I ran out of my Copics (well, at least the most important colors). So I used watercolors this time. After applying the color pencils on top I managed to make the drawing even more vibrant. As for Katara’s pose, I haven’t seen Avatar despite my brother and all my friends telling me to check it out. But since she is a waterbender and water is usually depicted as fluid, I’m guessing that they use a version of Tai Chi so I went with one of their forms. As for the water she is bending, I wanted there to be some contrast between Katara and the water. I wanted Katara to appear calm and collected, while the water was turbulent and fierce, ready to destroy anything in it’s path.

What do you guys think? (I’ll start working on the next artwork now)
