Ayumu Kasuga aka Osaka is easily my favorite character from Azumanga Daioh. Was looking through the manga and decided to have her wear the cat suit from the school festival.

This time I used both the g pen and a brush. Was going to just leave the line art but felt it looked to empty.

Another Pixiv theme; Bloomers.
I really like Misaki Shokuhou so I chose her as the model.

Here’s a little witch drawing following the Pixiv themes. Wanted to work with some new hatching techniques I learned recently but was short on time.

Been a while but I need to keep posting new artwork again. For now in order to get me into gear, I will once again take part in inktober. This is me posing like Kojiro Hyuga from Captain Tsubasa.
No. 1!
Awesome! It seems I can just post pictures from Pixiv.

I’ve been really into drawing with my g-pen but I have been trying to develop coloring styles as well. And I want to see how I can color my artwork when I use black ink. Does a detailed painting fit it, or do I have to use a simpler color scheme? This piece was drawn and painted a while ago so sorry about now uploading it sooner. Have been quite busy lately and decided to focus my time to drawing and painting.
One of the things I like about Krita is the ability to apply screentone like a paint (meaning I can paint it on with my pen). This is a great tool. So I decided to try out different shading process, without and with screentones.
Here are the different versions:

Reference, after using the Google image search ability it seems the model is Mami Yamase:

Captain Tsubasa 2018 is over… Hopefully they will continue animating the rest of the story, it would be a shame if they stopped here. The fight between Hyuga and Tsubasa was really entertaining and really pumped me up as I watched it in the gym. When they revealed Hyuga’s Tiger shot I got goosebumps. They did a really good job to show the power and strength behind Hyuga’s shot. No question about it, Hyuga is definitely my favorite character of Captain Tsubasa.
I really like the aesthetic of giving the idea of power and movement by using hatching and rough lines, it really blends well together with color.

I’ve been wanting to make an all ink drawing for a while now. This time I chose to draw Airi Suzuki. It’s a shame I got into ℃-ute (and Berryz Koubou) a little late to the party. I listened to a couple of their songs back in the day but never really delved into all their projects. On the plus side I have plenty of new material that will be new to me. I’m really glad Airi decided to continue singing after ℃-ute retired. I wont lie out of all the ℃-ute members Airi captured my attention the most (although everyone is winning me over when I started checking their songs and videos out, but I still think Airi is my favorite).
One artist that gave me the final push to finally draw this piece is ungrochika an artist that focuses on making art with ink. Her art is quite beautiful do check it out.
here is her twitter
and her instagram
Not only is she an artist but she is also a DJ (and to top it off she is extremely cute too), do check her out.

Whenever I have time I have been playing through the Kingdom Hearts series before I go ahead and play Kingdom Hearts III. So far I have finished the original, saw the 358/2 days scenes, I started playing Chain of memories but it was quite straining so I went ahead and saw the scenes on youtube. Anyway I finished Kingdom Hearts II about two weeks ago. And I gotta say, the design for Riku in Kingdom Hearts II was definitely the best version so far. I’ve seen his design in Kingdom Hearts III and so far KHII is still the best. Both with the cloak and the his normal clothes.
As a side note, after finishing Kingdom Hearts II I decided to go back to Chain of Memories and slug through it. I really don’t like quitting. I’m almost done with Sora’s section then there should be a short section where I play as Riku.
Here is the finished piece done with my G pen and my Copics:
I made a quick background with Photoshop and Corel Painter:

My brother showed me this cool picture that was drawn and then had sections of the dress cut out so that the artist could use the sky as her dresses color. Since I was already drawing Minmey so that I could practice with my pen on bristol paper. Bristol paper is cool and all but it starts to bubble up and break apart when I use water media on it so I decided to paint it digitally. And since I was already preparing the drawing for using photographs as the “coloring” base I figure it would be a good enough time to practice different coloring styles and backgrounds.
I was just focusing on drawing and painting so I didn’t keep any records of the process this time.

This is the final piece all finally composited together. Making the background sure did take a while. It was all done using Copics. Copics are great but they do have their limitations and require quite a bit of steps in order to have them work the way I want them to. And since covering large areas takes a lot of ink it can be quite an expensive medium. But I wanted to see if I could get a handle on colors and values using nothing but the Copics.
I had to think a good bit about what I wanted the background to be but since I was going for a yanki theme I figured having them in the arcade setting would fit well. I was considering having Athena carrying a bat but decided against that for this one (maybe on another piece sometime in the future). Once I did finish the background I did have to calibrate the colors digitally and also clean up some of the forground objects so that I could place Athena and Miss X behind them. Once I did do that I went ahead and fixed their values so that they fit in with the background and then also added some shadows.
