In the end to fit in with the background I had painted before, I chose to resize and crop the model Shiro.
On another note, I feel conflicted about drawing the line art digitally with Clip Studio. I really love drawing with dip pens and actual ink, but drawing it digitally is great for when I paint or add want to modify things digitally at later processes. Be it painting or adding screen tones and hatching. Although when I think about it, I could always do it traditionally and then just redo it digitally when I have a better idea of what my plans end up being. Luckily by this point I have gotten used to just redrawing it all.

Last time I uploaded the rough draft, this time it’s the cleaned line art. I decided to finish it all using Clip Studio Paint. Next time I’ll upload the background.

I’ve been leaving this Yamucha drawing in the back burner for a long time. Perhaps next time I will also paint it.

Figuring out how the armor would look in this pose was a bit of a pain but once I started it began to take shape. Attached will be the line art and rough draft.

Working on various other drawings and paintings, but I decided last minute to work on the line art for Makima. Although I still haven’t decided on how I would go about painting her. Although I also want to do some black and white art as well.

A certain painting felt a bit lonely so I decided to add in Mem-cho. Here’s the line art and rough draft.

There’s a couple of new brushes I downloaded for Clip Studio which of course included pens. There is one that emulates translucent ink which I wanted to try out. It’s pretty realistic. I like it.
Now that I’ve done the line art, I cleaned up the lines and finalized sections that I was still planning out. The next step is figuring out how I want to paint it.

Running a bit late but hopefully I wont have those problems tomorrow.
I usually just draw whatever I want for Inktober, but I like the prompts this year so I might be following some of them this time. Today’s drawing is Marin Kitagawa wearing a backpack.
After not drawing traditionally for a while, it took me some time to get used to it again. But this made me realize just how much I prefer making line art traditionally as opposed to digitally. There is some that is just more intuitive. Despite that though, I did make a couple of mistakes, some were so bad when I had to actually start inking that I had no choice but to redraw it all again. Hopefully bristol paper works better with the ink because the paper I ended up using always has the fibers get cut and released when I use my maru pen.
On another note, I finally had a chance to try out Clip Studio’s 3d model. I’m surprised it took me this long to actually try it. This will make drawing and coming up with ideas and poses much easier and better. After my brother informed me that all my drawings and paintings were all doing the same thing, I wanted to change things up a bit.
Here’s to the rest of Inktober.
