"A Hopeless Dream Chaser"
I remembered there was a scene where Goku was fighting in the Tenkaichi tournament and he got dizzy when he used a technique where his spun around and turned into a tornado. When I was looking for it, it was against Nam. There was less variation in the posing showcasing how dizzy he was. So I decided to add more movement to my take on Goku getting dizzy. Since it was an easy drawing, I decided to ink it.

Since were are past half way through this month, we are closer to Halloween now. I’ve been re-watching “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected”. I never got to finish it when it came out. So hopefully this time I actually get to finish it. I’m really enjoying it (currently in season 2). In season 1 episode 8, Yui and Yukino both dressed in cosplay. The costumes used are what I used for reference in this drawing.

Short on time and yet I was crazy enough to make a drawing with a background anyway… It’s a shame I couldn’t ink it. If you have been keeping up with Watamote there is a cute chapter where Tamura visits Tomoko despite a typhoon forming. Although knowing Tamura, it is because there is a typhoon that she decided to visit. When I saw the prompt for today (storm), I came to the conclusion that I would draw them coming back from the store. I hope to finish it once I have more time. Still haven’t decided on how to go about it though, inked, colored?

This was drawn using a reference from the show Shoujo Commando IZUMI. Recently I watch this channel named Kenny Luderdale who showcases old school anime and Japanese shows. On one of the episodes he was talking about this show which at the beginning was going to be a Sukeban Deka sequel but changed into a mix of a lot of 80s action movies.

What’s funny is that when I was plugging it into the Google image finder it marked it as a photo of Fusako Shigenobu, leader of the Japanese Red Army.

I took some screenshots of some other cool scenes but I will same that for some other time.
While I was drawing it with ink I began to wonder whether what she had even had rockets. I began to remember that Kenny referred to her weapon as a bazooka. Luckily when I searched information about the bazooka, I learned that it was indeed a type of rocket launcher so I was still okay. Didn’t get a chance to ink or hatch it but I should probably try and do so for some more pieces in the coming days.

I’ve been wanting to try Yoshitaka Amano’s style. When I was looking through my collection of references I decided to use one of Sayoko Yamaguchi.

Looking at the linework done in the reference paintings that I have of Yoshitaka’s art I believe he was using a brush to get the effect that some areas have (some are lighter, and some are darker). So with that in mind I watered the ink and passed over the areas I wished to darken twice. I wanna try working with this style more and at some point with color.

Today was a rough one but I managed to make some time to draw. Today I decided to draw one of the planned drawings I talked about a couple of days ago. I had to composite many reference pictures that I had screen captured before October I believe. I was unsure if I should draw her at a closer view or not (if I had I would have had more time to add more details and ink/hatch the drawing). But I really wanted to draw Saki’s outfit from Otona na no yo! She looks like a really cute doll. Personally I believe she had the best outfit by far for that music video. While I was looking at the screenshots of the mv (it took me a while but I captured all scenes where Saki appeared, most of the video), I got to compare everyone’s movements during the dance scenes. She can really move. Her dance moves are powerful and cute, I don’t really know how to describe them but the flow and execution are definitely top notch. No wonder she is the captain.

Didn’t really feel like going with the prompt today. Just looking through my references I decided to draw Hermione, which I don’t think I’ve done before. I went with the way she looked in the first movie since she had that cute fluffy frizzy hair (they really gave up on that look as the series of movies continued). Plus a witch does fit with October. I should probably make more fall and Halloween inspired drawings since we are about half way through the month already.

When I saw that the prompt was gross I couldn’t stop thinking about Asuka saying kimochi warui in the End of Evangelion. I know it means disgusting but I could totally see her saying you’re gross right to your face. Today’s was also a quick one since I was pretty tired and had little time after work.

When I saw the prompt for today I was thinking of doing something generic like a person clasping their hands but I had a better (and funnier) idea. What about a drawing of Tomoko finally having some friends.
I really love the way the story has been going. I always enjoyed the cringe aspect of the story since loners know firsthand what Tomoko feels, thinks and does in order to get by. But I also really love the way she has developed over the years and has managed to even start making really close friends. There truly is hope out there, even for Tomoko.

Today I accidently matched with the prompt for today, I didn’t even notice it till I was about to upload it.
Anyway, these past few weeks Saki has been posting videos of her practicing with her Kendama. Meanwhile in To Aru Kagaku no Railgun they finally covered the Indian Poker arc (this season was amazing, kind of a shame that they sort of messed up Index though). I wanted to have them do perhaps some more dynamic moves but I think one where they match each other and are both just chilling and enjoying their Kendama. Time is a bit limited till I finish those three essays so I will have to leave this piece in it’s line art state for now. I’ve been wanting to actually do some more drawings of both Saki and Saten so this was a good excuse to finally do it. More drawings of Misaka’s wingman and Captain will come in the future of course.

Today’s theme is teeth. I really think Airi’s right canine tooth is really cute so I wanted to draw a picture of her smiling. Recently she throwed a pitch for a game. All her photos were of her smiling, it seems she was having a lot of time. I used one of her photos and modified it. At first I was thinking of having her do one of those exagerated pitching poses like from an old school anime but I wanted to keep her smile the focus. This time I had a bit more time so I inked and hatched it.
