BerryKyuu 20th anniversary

It took a while but I finally managed to finish this painting to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Berryz Koubou and ℃-ute first known as the Hello Project Kids. I was wondering what I should draw\paint to celebrate and remembered the I believe Hello Morning episode where they announced the finalists who would be joining Hello Project. The delayed reaction of everyone learning that they were all chosen to stay was funny and cute. There was a good delay before they all reacted to the news. This I believe was a great moment to paint since this is where it all began.

Thank you for this past 20 years. And here’s to celebrating the future ones as well.

XP Pen Reconstructed Masterpiece Napoleon Bonaparte

This is my second entry for the “XP Pen Reconstructed Masterpiece” contest. While looking for famous masterpieces I had seen the Napoleon painting before I had decided to paint the Van Gogh painting I made prior. I know I wanted to do something with this recreation, but I didn’t have an idea until this past weekend. I started with the motorcycle first which took the longest since I was mashing different motorcycles together until I arrived at this design. Next came Napoleon which went faster than I thought. I debated whether to have his face uncovered or at least his eyes, but decided to go with a closed helmet in the end. When I finally finished the background I was about to call it done but felt it needed something more when I was looking at the soldiers in the background. After some thought I decided to add a jet which fit perfectly in the blank space and to top it off, also merged well with Napoleon’s hand gesture.

XP Pen Reconstructed Masterpiece Bandaged Van Gogh

This will be the actual entry to the contest, now that it’s completely painted. I debated with going with a more painterly style or a more anime like style. After playing around a bit, I decided to go with the anime style. I tried to keep the same color scheme. I added some static to the background which for some reason intensified when I resized the whole painting to a smaller size. I contemplated whether to add some blood to the piece but decided against it…

For the background, if I remember correctly (I think I learned this in art class when I was in middle school) Van Gogh was a fan of Japan. A bit of an Otaku. So I thought it would be fun to play around with that idea with the paintings in the background.

Final Gear Contest Bernadette Ukiyo-e

Today is the last day to upload to the Final Gear -Heavy Battle Princess contest here on Pixiv. I wanted to try something different this time, so I decided to try going for an Ukiyo-e style. I decided to go for a mix between traditional and digital (although if I had a bit more time I might have painted it traditionally). But I quite love the way it all came together. I really loved working in this style, I really want to try it again at some point. Hope you guys like it.

Winter landscape

This is a painting that I did for an entry to the Corel “WINTER LANDSCAPES PHOTO AND ART CONTEST”. Which can be found here: https://learn.corel.com/contest/winter-landscapes-photo-and-art-contest/#rules-and-resources

This will make the second contest I enter this year, and there are two more contests that I’m aiming to enter next.

A painting using the tapered oil brush for the whole of the painting except for the sun and it’s rays in which I used the digital airbrush and the effect to add lighting. The scene it self is of a mountain trail in Colorado that I visited about a little over a year ago I believe. I was aiming to end this in one day but it ended up spilling into a second day.
