"A Hopeless Dream Chaser"
The reference image used for this drawing was from the Berryz Koubou Alo Hello in Hawaii photobook.
I wanted to try out different styles of drawing but didn’t quite liked the way the first drawing came out, but it was a good practice run for my second attempt.
In commemoration of Momochi’s graduation anniversary I will be doing a couple more artworks this month.

It’s been almost a month since I had painted this piece, I can’t believe I have been pushing it back by that much…

This follows my current practice working with ink brushes, the translucence it contains and the application of paint and how it interacts with it. I have a couple of other pieces that I can use to continue this practice. It’s amazing, but it does have it’s limitations on what can be done (coloring wise). On the other hand, the effects and textures are really unique and interesting.

Since I had some time yesterday, I decided to try out my new calligraphy brush. The model that will be the first to try it out is Momochi, using a photo from her last photobook as reference. I’m surprised at how accurate the brush the brush can be. I really enjoyed the experience. For this painting I decided to do it freehand which can be pretty dicey but it does speed up the process by quite a lot. And sure enough it did, but I did do one mistake. I put the mouth and nose too low so I made the decision to alter that using Photoshop.

This will be the second piece I will be uploading from the paintings I have done over the last couple of months but still haven’t uploaded yet. I really wanted to practice simple color schemes so this one was one of those attempts.
It’s a shame we don’t hear about Momochi ever since she became a teacher but I’m glad she is following her goals and doing well. I wish her all the best. I’m just really glad there is a lot of media out there of her, it would really suck if there wasn’t.
This painting was done using a reference from some scans I found online of Momo Play. I wanted to try out the Anime X Cartoon style again so I went with that. It was drawn first with my pen then I painted it with Photoshop.

Today’s Pixiv theme is Striped knee highs. Decided to challenge my self today and draw three subjects and even ink them. I had much less time than I thought I would today but I still somehow managed to do it. Having said that, I was originally planing to have them sitting in a couch with a window behind them showcasing a snowy background (this because it snowed all throughout last night where I live), but that would balloon the amount of time and it’s already rather late as I write this. For now this will do. I will come back to it later of course. I really love Buono so I was really happy as I was drawing them.

I’ve been wanting to make an all ink drawing for a while now. This time I chose to draw Airi Suzuki. It’s a shame I got into ℃-ute (and Berryz Koubou) a little late to the party. I listened to a couple of their songs back in the day but never really delved into all their projects. On the plus side I have plenty of new material that will be new to me. I’m really glad Airi decided to continue singing after ℃-ute retired. I wont lie out of all the ℃-ute members Airi captured my attention the most (although everyone is winning me over when I started checking their songs and videos out, but I still think Airi is my favorite).
One artist that gave me the final push to finally draw this piece is ungrochika an artist that focuses on making art with ink. Her art is quite beautiful do check it out.
