"A Hopeless Dream Chaser"
For the painting of Miyabi in her maid outfit I used a couple of references for the pose, one of them happened to be of Miyabi in her outfit for the Hello Project Winter 2019 Concert. I really loved the pose, the dress and the crown working together to make Miyabi look so beautiful. This time I wanted to hatch and cross hatch. The line art itself was done with my g pen and the hatching was done with my maru pen.

has been waiting for about a month now to be uploaded. Actually looking at the date, it seems I painted this back in September 6… I had something planned to accompany this piece but I could always add that later.
I wanted a late 80s/ early 90s look. I wanted to emphasize the speed so I manipulated the tilt of the median and buildings to give that effect. Looking at it now, adding some wind lines in the foreground will sell that effect even more. I’ll probably add that to the accompaniment I mentioned above.
I just remembered that it took me a good while to find the model of the motorcycle (it was specially hard since I don’t really know much about them). For those interested in knowing the motorcycle used in the Ai no Dangan MV, it was a Honda VFR 1200F.

For today’s drawing, I have Momochi in her “Ai no Dangan” outfit riding a motorcycle. There are a lot of options and possibilities when it comes to adding a background. Maybe I should try out different styles when I end up painting it.

I was just playing around with colors in the background till I arrived with the current background. I think it fits the current Wano arc. I’m really coming to love the Sargent Brush in Corel Painter.

I’m surprised I haven’t drawn Zoro before. Specially since he is my favorite One Piece character. Although to be fair, One Piece has so many good characters to choose from.

This is the colored version of the ink drawing I made of Rin Shima which can be seen here.
I decided to do something a bit different in that I wanted to see if I could just modify some reference pictures. I wanted to convey the feeling of accomplishing the goal of reaching a destination and embarking to the next one. As I was painting the raindrops, I decided to add a drop on Shima’s finger which I felt really fit. Because I decided to follow the reference picture a bit too closely, but I guess it was a happy mistake.

I had been reading the manga for a while now, but was surprised to learn just how big Yuru Camp is in Japan. That makes me rather happy. I actually went camping last summer. I couldn’t help but remember Yuru Camp. For my first artwork of this series, I picked Rin Shima. I quite like how dependable and independent she is.

Today I decided to paint using the Corel Painter real watercolors again. This time I decided to use different brush presets and they definitely act differently. But I guess that is to be expected. Looking at the end result, they give off that watercolor and Copic look. I used the inktober day 26 line art of Momochi’s last photobook. I wanted to emulate the coloring style of classic manga.
I really want to draw more of Momochi. Luckily the Country Girls dvd magazine has plenty of references of her interacting with the snow. And I really want to paint her in the red outfit from her last photobook. But before that, I want to make a New Year’s piece, I already have an idea so it’s just a matter of doing it.

Today’s prompt is float. Since we are nearing Halloween and the prompt is float, I decided to draw a witch. After a little bit of thought I decided to draw Morda from Berserk. I wonder is she will be joining the party once they leave the island? It would be strange is she didn’t. This time I decided to just go ahead and come up with a pose from my mind. When I was done, I noticed that it was similar to what was drawn in chapter 361. I guess that image stayed in mind.

Today’s prompt is hide. After a little bit of thought I decided to use the scans of Momoko’s last photobook as reference to draw today’s drawing. What I did differently today was just learn from the clothes and the tree used, I wanted to make my own pose. I was imagining a scene where Momoko was playing hide and seek and decided to give up her position in a cute way.

Since were are past half way through this month, we are closer to Halloween now. I’ve been re-watching “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected”. I never got to finish it when it came out. So hopefully this time I actually get to finish it. I’m really enjoying it (currently in season 2). In season 1 episode 8, Yui and Yukino both dressed in cosplay. The costumes used are what I used for reference in this drawing.
