Storm Tomoko Tamura

Running a bit late again, but somehow managed to finish. This is the colored version of the ink drawing that I did for day 17 of Inktober 2020.

While I was painting, I took that opportunity to also fix some issues regarding the sizes of hands, arms and head sizes (among other things). This time I didn’t use a reference for the colors aside from just looking at what the Kuroki residence looks like and modified the colors based on the color theme that I decided to go for. Looking at the cover art for chapter 183, it seems like the typhoon completely soaked Tomoko and Yuri. With that in mind, I decided to make Yuri have wet clothes as well. Rainy season will be starting soon or it has begun in some places, so I think this piece will fit that well.

Tomoko and Masaki Buddies

I quite liked the outfit Masaki used during the amusement park fieldtrip. Looking at the cover for volume 13 I got the chance to see the color scheme. Although I’m still not sure of the backpacks full color scheme.

Nemo’s Anime Christmas

That’s number two down. I might just be able to finish the third painting, but we’ll see.
While Hina is having fun with her fantasy anime life coming to life, I can totally see Tamura being annoyed at seeing Hina get close to Tomoko and enjoying her passive aggressive tendencies.

Inktober 2020 25 Buddy Tomoko and Masaki

I had this idea a couple of days ago but was worried that I wouldn’t have enough time to draw it. Luckily I was able to make it. For today’s prompt we have buddy. It’s strange, but Tomoko’s and Yoshida’s relationship reminds me of G Gundam. You know, how like in the show they communicated through their fists (although it’s just Yoshida actually punching, then again Tomoko attacks using even more dangerous moves). I really loved Yoshida’s look and segments from the amusement park chapters.

Inktober 2020 17 Storm Tomoko and Yuri

Short on time and yet I was crazy enough to make a drawing with a background anyway… It’s a shame I couldn’t ink it. If you have been keeping up with Watamote there is a cute chapter where Tamura visits Tomoko despite a typhoon forming. Although knowing Tamura, it is because there is a typhoon that she decided to visit. When I saw the prompt for today (storm), I came to the conclusion that I would draw them coming back from the store. I hope to finish it once I have more time. Still haven’t decided on how to go about it though, inked, colored?

Inktober 2020 10 Hope

When I saw the prompt for today I was thinking of doing something generic like a person clasping their hands but I had a better (and funnier) idea. What about a drawing of Tomoko finally having some friends.
I really love the way the story has been going. I always enjoyed the cringe aspect of the story since loners know firsthand what Tomoko feels, thinks and does in order to get by. But I also really love the way she has developed over the years and has managed to even start making really close friends. There truly is hope out there, even for Tomoko.
