Inktober 2022 01 Momochi hiking lineart

October is finally here, and with that also comes Inktober. For the first day I decided to draw Momochi. There is a picture of her in hiking gear.

I want to also work with hatching and cross hatching, but that may be done on Monday’s drawing.

Inktober 2021 Day 31

Happy Halloween everyone! Although by this time it’s pretty much already over. Hopefully you guys had a great time. Today also marks the last day of Inktober. I got out somewhat early today from my other job so I decided to make multiple drawings for this special day. I was having a hard time deciding who to draw for the last day and just decided that there was no reason to just choose one. So I made three instead. I was actually going to make five… but that was pushing it.

For today, I decided to draw Karin Miyamoto in a maid outfit (super cute), Airi in her Sailor Moon cosplay (I’ve been craving to draw her for such a long time now) and Momochi in the outfit she used for the 2016 NTV Halloween Live event.

Didn’t have time to hatch or ink them today but I at least managed to finish the line art.

In terms of Inktober anyway, see you guys next year. Hopefully you guys enjoyed my drawings this month.

Inktober 2021 Day 29

Wow, we’re already three days away from Halloween… well this one is pretty much over so two. For today’s drawing I chose Bulma and Lunch. It’s a real shame that Lunch was neglected and forgotten after the end of the original Dragon Ball. She seriously deserved better.

When I first starting hearing Akina Nakamori I was watching her music videos and quite vividly remembered a performance where there was a Hannya mask in the background. It took me a while to find the performance which I luckily managed to find. I wonder if I should have done something with the background…

Inktober 2021 Day 27

The recent photos that Sayu has been uploading are extremely beautiful. Many of them really capture the fall season (there’s so many I want to work with). I quite like the ones where she is sporting a cute mask. The pairing with the newsboy cap is a nice touch.

I was going to add some hatching to mark the darker areas and the patterns in the mask. But time was quite limited today so that will have to be another time.

Inktober 2021 Day 26

During a special chapter of Watamote the results of the character popularity contest were released and everyone was dressed as an idol. Surprisingly Kii chan was ranked 17 (though with the amount of characters it makes sense) but on top of that she was dressed differently. Even in these special chapters the corrupted mind of Kii chan still exists. Tomoko’s influence is scary…

I’m guessing the style is based on BabyMetal, though it reminds me of Metal Gear for some reason. I dub this version of Kii chan as “Punished Kii chan”.

Not all the outfit was shown past the chest area so I had to make up the rest.

Inktober 2021 Day 25

This one took a while, and it’s still not done. I remembered that in Pokemon there were three legendry’s that possesed the power of wind and thunder and a third one. I had done a bit of research at the time and learned that they were based on three Japanese Kami. Over the years I wanted to make a piece with Misaka and Kongo Mitsuko as Raijin and Fujin. After thinking a bit about Inari and learning that it’s the god of foxes, fertility and a bunch of other things plus it’s the leader of the three Kami I felt that Misaki Shokuhou would best fit this role. For various reasons. This drawing took a while since I couldn’t find readily available information about these three Kami and high resolution images of them. Then, the ones that were available came in so many variations that in the end I just decided to take some artistic liberty for some of the details.

Inktober 2021 Day 22

While looking at references for the drawings I have done so far, I felt like drawing some Sailor Moon art since the fashion there is so iconic. This time I decided to draw the titular character. I wanted a warm outfit so I combined different clothes from my references. I liked the original pose of the model arranging her hair, but since Usagi has a very peculiar style I had to accommodate for that.

I was going to have Usagi’s eyes partially opened but I liked the way they looked closed, it gives her a serene thoughtful aesthetic.
