Haniel (Marin) and Gojo

I was working on this painting since last year but when I noticed that I wouldn’t make it to Halloween I decided to stop and work on it again before this year’s Halloween… I didn’t make it again due to circumstances in life. But perhaps that was a good things since I fixed some areas that were giving me problems last year and decided to expand the background by adding a forest. With that said I decided to just upload it this year otherwise who knows if other issues stop me from uploading it in the future.

Adding lighting to the trees really made it pop. I really wanted to convey the complicated feelings that Gojo was going through while also tying it together to the Haniel character.

Marin and Gojo at the Beach

With everything going on I forgot that I had another painting I was hoping to upload during the summer but Now is better than next year.

I really love this pairing.

Starting Wednesday (if all goes well) I will start uploading daily due to Inktober.

Marin and Gojo’s Christmas

I’m running a bit late with this painting. I was hoping to make two Christmas paintings, but oh well.

I was having a hard time on how I should decorate Gojo’s room. The idea was to have them both watching either some Christmas videos or planning their next costume. One thing I knew for sure is that I wanted some snowman so I added them on the window. In terms of the decorations I wanted them to be quickly put together as this would be a new thing for Gojo and Marin would most likely bring them for him. So I wanted it to be minimal. That in turn though made the room a bit barren so I decided to have some tea/coffee or hot chocolate cups present. It’s not much but it made it much cozier in my opinion.

As I was painting I was contemplating whether to have the monitor in front of them or not. It’d be a shame if I didn’t upload that version either since I spent quite a bit of time on it as well (especially Gojo’s sweater design).

Merry Christmas, hope you guys have a good one.

Marin and Gojo at the Beach Line Art

I really loved it when Marin and Gojo went to the beach, it was such a cute moment.

For some reason I was having trouble drawing this out. I’ll be editing it more later so drawing itself is still a work in progress.

Inktober 2023 Day 31 Haniel (Marin Kitagawa)

We made it, Today is the last day of Inktober 2023. And I have decide to finish it off with Marin Kitagawa cosplaying as Haniel the Archangel. The lore and aesthetics of Haniel are quite beautiful and also spooky for lack of a better word. The artist made a good job to convey that.

I was unsure how the hands and claws look, so I had to go with just long nails. My first plan was just to darken the background around Marin but that just looked too plain. And I wanted to extend beyond her ankles so I edited the bottom part and add to it. Marin was inked and hatched traditionally and everything else was done digitally.

Happy Halloween! May next year also allow me to participate again in Inktober.

Inktober 2023 Day 7 Marin Kitagawa

I’m currently drawing on small pieces of paper that are 6″ x 8″ . I kinda wanted some of the folds in Marin’s clothes to be thinner, but working with my current paper has trouble with my maru pen. It digs in and has trouble releasing the ink like I want it to, despite making the ink consistency just like I want it. I used my g pen to make certain areas thicker to try and give a contrast. But I think it only helped a little. Maybe I should use a higher quality paper to try working with the line thickness I can get with my maru pen.

Marin measurements V2

I wasn’t too happy with the first version of my painting of Marin Kitagawa, it just didn’t pop. I wanted Marin to glow because of the sunlight coming from the window. Aside from that, I also added a couple of more details around the whole painting.

The original painting can be seen here:
