Pencil Line Art: I quite like the way pencil flows

For some reason I had the urge to draw Komi. It’s been a while since I last catched up with Komi’s manga. Last I remembered they went to New York I think? I think it’s time I go back to reading it.

I have a number of paintings waiting to be uploaded but I need to space them out between background and the finished painting. Which helps me rest my eyes on them so that I can give them a look over and edit as needed. Plus I really should do some more drawings and line art.

Because they are simpler to do I can create some time buffers so that I can practice and work on longer projects. My brother was telling me that I should do some traditional art, and I do want to. But it takes longer so I have been neglecting it lately. It’s sad just seeing my Nicker Poster colors cake up.

We’ll see.

Surface Pro 7 1st Test

Still not much spare time this week, although I finished the hardest parts of my home project. The rest should be a bit more straight forward and hopefully will go much faster. If that does happen I should have more time to draw and paint.

On another note, my brother needed a laptop so I sold him my previous Surface Pro 5. This meant that I could finally upgrade to a newer model. I ended up on the pro 7 with an i7 and 16 gb of ram. A good improvement in all aspects overall. I just got it today and had a few hours at the end of today to try it out. So far so good, here is a quick sketch that I did freehand.

Ryoga Umbrella line art rough draft Pencil

Decided to just do a quick drawing today. My plans are to probably paint it with watercolors. Although I might just paint it digitally at some point in the future as well, we’ll see. I didn’t really have any idea of what I wanted to draw really, but as I was sketching I came up with this drawing.

Update on upcoming artwork

Alrighty, so things did not go as planned and I ended up not posting this yesterday. Sorry. I ended up pondering what I wanted to have as the final piece and ended up going a different route from my original idea. Though not much.

Anyway. For this next piece I decided to do another Pokemon artwork. Since it’s Halloween I wanted something a bit spooky. So I went with an idea I had sketched earlier this year.

It’s a very rough sketch (looks really poor huh), and at this point I was still not sure what character to use. Seeing as I went for something a bit different this time, I can use Nunotaba Shinobu from To Aru Kagaku No Railgun next time and go with an idea closer to the original (though I will probably change the pose a bit).

In any case, here is the rough idea of what I want. It’s quite simple but I want to play with darkness and light on this one. So it should be interesting. Assuming I do it right.

Working on a piece for a contest on DeviantArt

One way to increase my level is to compete with other artists head on, so I decided to start working on pieces for contests. I will explain on this a bit more later.

Samus Aran First Rough Draft

So I was thinking about adding this piece about two weeks ago. But something else came up, which ended up making waste about a week of my time. Anyway, I managed to work on this a bit at a time trying out different ideas of what I wanted with this piece. I’m still not sure what to do with the background though… But I want to stay in touch as much as I can regarding new projects.

For now I will post this and keep you guys updated on anything new that has been added and of course the progress of when I start working on the final piece. I will also eventually show you guys another piece I was working on. But that is for later.
