"A Hopeless Dream Chaser"
I originally tried painting this drawing back in 2020. To keep with the theme of the original attempt, I decided to go with a flat style. Though it would have been interesting to try it with my current style.
I was quite content with the simpler painting but I wanted to add in some lighting to really emphasize that summer vibe.

I was hoping to edit this painting a bit more after giving it some weeks till I got back to it. But due to certain things going on I think this will have to do. Perhaps in a couple of months or years I’ll come back to it. Having said that, overall it captures what I was intending to do.
Aside from the lighting, I also redid the grass and made some edits to
Rei’s proportions and repainted some of her facial features.

I wasn’t too happy with the way I drew Fiona last year so I decided to give it another try. I edited a couple of things and personally feel she looks much better.

I decided to edit this background once I got further ahead on the actual subject for this painting. I added some more details and shadows throughout.

Wasn’t quite happy with the drawing I did for Inktober 2025 day 13 so I decided to fix a couple of things.

This is actually a RE:do from 2022. I decided to re-paint not only Misaki but also the whole background. From there I then simplified my painting all over. This time I also decided to actually add in a sports bra this time. There were also other details I changed but you can compare it if interested. Here is the old version:

It’s about to get even colder where I live so I wanted to paint something to reflect that. Looking at some references I remembered a painting I made back in 2021 that I wanted to eventually get back to and give it another try. So I decided to RE:do my Airi painting of her in a jacket. I also decided to try out a couple of new brushes aside from the sargent brush. I’m glad I did so because some of them fought me less when I was spreading paint and mixing. My plan is to continue practicing until I understand them better. This time around I was also more confident in giving her mitts a try.

With a bit more experience I decided to give my K’ painting another try and fix areas that I felt needed work. I’ve also added a couple more details such as lights and steam. Pretty soon I will start working on some winter artwork. Shame I couldn’t fully enjoy this fall season.

The end of summer is finally here. Fall is just around the corner! I wanted to do more summer based art but I was bogged down with other things going on. Maybe next year.
I actually wanted to retry a couple of past paintings but since I ran out of time I will have to end it with Kodachi. This makes the third revision (and probably the last). Although version two wasn’t back I wanted to give it another try. I wonder though if people would even be able to tell the difference? I also edited the background but I kept forgetting that certain details would just get hidden behind Kodachi. With that in mind I decided to also add in the background.
