Laios went too far Line Art

About one or two weeks ago I finally got the chance to read Dungeon Meshi, after my brothers both high recommended it.

I loved it. I can’t believe I already finished it. I really loved the world and the characters. (I’m also currently watching the anime, so far they have done the series justice).

This line art was done after I read through the ghosts section. I can’t believe Laios would say something like that. But having read the whole series now… Yeah this guy definitely has said and done many things that I think I can incorporate to this piece in a future update.

Till then.

Booette

This was originally drawn in September 28, 2018. I also painted it beforehand on October 1st, 2018 (seen here, quite embarrassing looking at it now).

I didn’t quite like the way I painted it the last time. So on April 29, 2019 after practicing with color and painting I decided to give it another try. At that point I stumbled upon the works of Takato Yamamoto. I fell in love with his work and use of simple colors to create amazing pieces. That’s when I decided to try and paint Booette in a simple color scheme with a minimal amount of colors. Although the styles are no where near the same and I was still learning about how colors interact with each other, I really liked the way it turned out. I wanted to add more color to it, but I stopped my self as best I could. Now that I feel more confident with color I wonder how it would turn out?

Update on upcoming artwork

Alrighty, so things did not go as planned and I ended up not posting this yesterday. Sorry. I ended up pondering what I wanted to have as the final piece and ended up going a different route from my original idea. Though not much.

Anyway. For this next piece I decided to do another Pokemon artwork. Since it’s Halloween I wanted something a bit spooky. So I went with an idea I had sketched earlier this year.

It’s a very rough sketch (looks really poor huh), and at this point I was still not sure what character to use. Seeing as I went for something a bit different this time, I can use  Nunotaba Shinobu from To Aru Kagaku No Railgun next time and go with an idea closer to the original (though I will probably change the pose a bit).

In any case, here is the rough idea of what I want. It’s quite simple but I want to play with darkness and light on this one. So it should be interesting. Assuming I do it right.

Yuzuki Yukari Halloween Drawing

Back on my Youtube page I was asked to make a video drawing Yuzuki Yukari, a Vocaloid. I had already drawn her before, so I decided to try something a bit different and also try a different version (something I found out while looking for references). I believe she has three different outfits that correspond to different versions of her voicebanks.

Now, as I have stated before. Making a video out of a drawing takes some time. I’m not able to move about freely when drawing, and have to be mindful of what I do so that the camera is able to pick it up and in turn allows the viewer to watch and hopefully learn from my actions. It can get a bit annoying but oh well. I’m sure that with time I will be able to do it much quicker and easier.

As for the drawing, I decided to make it Halloween themed. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do with the background of this drawing. After all, I am still planning on making two more Halloween drawings… But after playing around with my rough draft, I finally came upon an idea and just went with it.

Video will be uploaded to Youtube and linked here as soon as I am done editing it (here’s hoping to have it ready by tomorrow).

In any case, what do you guys think?
