"A Hopeless Dream Chaser"
Today’s prompt is hide. After a little bit of thought I decided to use the scans of Momoko’s last photobook as reference to draw today’s drawing. What I did differently today was just learn from the clothes and the tree used, I wanted to make my own pose. I was imagining a scene where Momoko was playing hide and seek and decided to give up her position in a cute way.

I had this idea a couple of days ago but was worried that I wouldn’t have enough time to draw it. Luckily I was able to make it. For today’s prompt we have buddy. It’s strange, but Tomoko’s and Yoshida’s relationship reminds me of G Gundam. You know, how like in the show they communicated through their fists (although it’s just Yoshida actually punching, then again Tomoko attacks using even more dangerous moves). I really loved Yoshida’s look and segments from the amusement park chapters.

Sanji came to mind as soon as I saw that the prompt was Chef. I wasn’t too sure how I would go about it, but I remembered the movie The God of Cookery by Stephen Chow. If you haven’t seen it, give it a try.

Last year for day 24 of inktober I had given this drawing a try, although I had modified it a bit. Since the prompt for today was sleep, I decided to try once again. Since it is a close up I was able to add a bit more detail to the drawing. Despite having a blueray with the Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! PV the scene where they are napping is a bit blurry due to some effects they used. I had stitch different parts together to get the scene together. Buono! is so nostalgic…

I wanted to do a drawing that was done entirely with hatching and cross hatching. Looking through my references I decided to draw @yu_ra_ne , I believe she is a model? But she has a lot of beautiful photos that I could choose from. I decided to go with one where she was dressed as a goth lolita since it would better fit into the Halloween aesthetic.

I remembered there was a scene where Goku was fighting in the Tenkaichi tournament and he got dizzy when he used a technique where his spun around and turned into a tornado. When I was looking for it, it was against Nam. There was less variation in the posing showcasing how dizzy he was. So I decided to add more movement to my take on Goku getting dizzy. Since it was an easy drawing, I decided to ink it.

Since were are past half way through this month, we are closer to Halloween now. I’ve been re-watching “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected”. I never got to finish it when it came out. So hopefully this time I actually get to finish it. I’m really enjoying it (currently in season 2). In season 1 episode 8, Yui and Yukino both dressed in cosplay. The costumes used are what I used for reference in this drawing.

Short on time and yet I was crazy enough to make a drawing with a background anyway… It’s a shame I couldn’t ink it. If you have been keeping up with Watamote there is a cute chapter where Tamura visits Tomoko despite a typhoon forming. Although knowing Tamura, it is because there is a typhoon that she decided to visit. When I saw the prompt for today (storm), I came to the conclusion that I would draw them coming back from the store. I hope to finish it once I have more time. Still haven’t decided on how to go about it though, inked, colored?

I’ve been wanting to try Yoshitaka Amano’s style. When I was looking through my collection of references I decided to use one of Sayoko Yamaguchi.

Looking at the linework done in the reference paintings that I have of Yoshitaka’s art I believe he was using a brush to get the effect that some areas have (some are lighter, and some are darker). So with that in mind I watered the ink and passed over the areas I wished to darken twice. I wanna try working with this style more and at some point with color.
