Here is the background for a painting that has been in waiting for about a month now. Although that wait time did do so some good in that I could do some final edits after coming back to it. I was wondering what the background for the main subjects of this painting. But looking through the final movie I liked the aesthetics of the rooms with cots.
This has been waiting to be uploaded for about a month. I was hoping to paint some more Halloween inspired painting over this month but I have been too busy. But on the plus side it let me see this painting in a fresh light so that I could add a few more details. I love Morrigan’s character design, and yet I have never played any Darkstalker games. Though I guess that will be true for a lot of people.
Happy Halloween!
Hopefully I can cram a few movies before this month ends, it would be a shame if I didn’t.
Here is my first piece of Luffy in his gear 5. Can you hear the drums of liberation? I liked the swirling eyes when he first transformed so I wanted to give it a try in this painting.
Last year I painted Yor, but I didn’t like the way it came out. Which is why I wanted to try it out again. It’s amazing how much my skill have increased in one year. Hopefully I keep getting even better.
I watched Oshi no Ko quite a few weeks ago. I loved it. By far my favorite character is Kana. I really want to make make more paintings of her.
The weather is finally starting to change and so are the colors, even if ever so slightly where I live. I wanted to portray a cozy atmosphere with this painting. Thus the colors and location I chose.
In terms of the painting I liked playing with different lighting colors that happened due to the light sources coming from all around her. Lately I have been debating whether to keep the big anime eyes, or making them more realistic. Personally I like both but often do wonder if my art style works better with more realistic proportions.
The window looked a bit too simple and empty so I decided to use the skill I learned from painting Momochi a while ago and add some raindrops. I think it’s a nice touch.
By the end I decided to make the painting into a sequence.
Surprisingly, I have amassed a good number of paintings that are ready to be uploaded. But I think it’s best to have too many rather than falling behind. Although I should start working on paintings that take place in Autumn and Halloween before October ends up passing me by. Specially since I will participate in Inktober again this year.
This idea of Android 18 has finally been brought to completion. It was sitting on my do list for at least 1 or 2 years. Painting with red hues and still having her stand out properly was somehow a bit tricky. But I learned a few things doing this painting. I wonder how I will end up going about it next time I work with these hues.
Here are some pictures of part of the process to start over:
The main idea and composition was there, but I decided to change the background and modify Zoro’s pose a bit lower to the ground. While I was painting this, I was once again re reading the Wano arc. So I decided to use the corresponding outfit. I also changed Shusui to Enma.
In this version of the painting I wanted to play around with the lighting which is why I made two versions, one with light beams on a separate layer and one with my original painting only. I was a bit worried about Zoro’s hair, but I think I made a good balance between how much detail I decided to paint and how much I decided to blend together.
As a side note, I really enjoyed the live action adaptation of One Piece. I really hope they continue making the series. Because of it, I got my dad to get interested in the series and now he’s watching the anime. Now if only my youngest brother would only give it a chance.
This will be a background for a drawing I did a couple of weeks ago. I wasn’t too sure what I wanted for the background but decided upon this one. I really like the way Dragon Ball makes their landscapes and backgrounds so I tried to emulate that.
