It took a while but I finally managed to finish this painting to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Berryz Koubou and ℃-ute first known as the Hello Project Kids. I was wondering what I should draw\paint to celebrate and remembered the I believe Hello Morning episode where they announced the finalists who would be joining Hello Project. The delayed reaction of everyone learning that they were all chosen to stay was funny and cute. There was a good delay before they all reacted to the news. This I believe was a great moment to paint since this is where it all began.
Thank you for this past 20 years. And here’s to celebrating the future ones as well.
For Berryz Koubou’s 18th anniversary. Miyabi, Yurina and Maasa held a live where they celebrated with a cake containing the cover of their debut single “Anata Nashide wa Ikite Yukenai”. When I paint it, I might tweak the cake a bit more so that the cake art can be seen better. Miyabi’s outfit I couldn’t see completely from the photo that Maasa uploaded so I had to guess how it looked like. Sad that I couldn’t see the live. Hopefully they put clips of it in the M-line Youtube channel.
I’ve been wanting to try out this style for a while. I think it works really well with this drawing. I went with an Anime X Cartoon style. I like the more stylized look of this art style. We’ll see how it turns out when I paint it.
The painted version of the line art I drew a couple of weeks ago.
It can be seen here:
I ended up editing the line art quite a bit since I messed up the proportions. I noticed this even more when I was painting. I went with an 80s anime style. I think I’m getting the hang of it now. Chinami looks super cute in this style.
I’m really glad that Chinami has found her calling and is making use of her English skills. It’s always amazing seeing people achieve their goals and move forward. Congratulations on your achievements and thank you for all the happiness you have given us during the years.
