Green and red looks really good on Ranma, so I decided to make the stripes green.

The painted version of the line art I drew a couple of weeks ago.
It can be seen here:
I ended up editing the line art quite a bit since I messed up the proportions. I noticed this even more when I was painting. I went with an 80s anime style. I think I’m getting the hang of it now. Chinami looks super cute in this style.

This is based on a cover of ‘Dunk’ featuring Haruko Sagara as Sukeban Deka Kyōko Nakamura. I drew this free hand with my pen, without a rough draft which gave a rather unfortunate facial features. I had to edit things out in order to get it all working and looking more presentable.

For those who actually visit the site, here is the unfortunate original line art:
This is the painted version of my Naoko Kawai line art that I uploaded previously.

The new Evangelion movie has finally been released here in the States. But I have yet to see it… This drawing is to commemorate it’s release. Really looking forward to watching it when I get a chance.

On monday I was in the mood to just draw a couple of pieces with pen and no rough draft. Some were good, and others were a bit off… The original drawing of Naoko was ok, but I decided to clean it up digitally and make a simpler version by using less lines and details and rounding out some areas.

Today’s drawing is of one of my favorite Ranma 1/2 characters, Kodachi Kuno.

I haven’t really been doing much summer drawings have I. So how about we do a couple. Starting with Ranma in a striped swimsuit.

Another drawing I made and perhaps the last one I will be showcasing here is of Chinami Tokunaga. The reference I used was from this post (second picture):
I really loved that thoughtful expression and pose.

Here is another sketch I made on my trip. This is of a light house we visited in Oregon.

I got a sprained ankle from the last hike I did so I decided to just sit at the top of Crater Lake instead of hiking around the trails. While I was eating some corn nuts, three pieces fell on the ground. Which was a bummer, but I decided to just pick them up when I finished eating what was left in the bag when about 30 minutes later a chipmunk appeared and was eyeing me as he approached closer and closer. This was a picture of him trying out one of the corn nuts.

I went for the first time to the West Coast and got to see and experience the ocean for the very first time. I also got to see and walk among the sequoia’s. It was a pretty fun trip. Although because of the hikes and car travelling I didn’t get much time to actually draw much. But I did manage to slip some time so I could draw a couple of pieces. I’ll be uploading them over the coming days.
It was fun, but I’m glad I’m back.
