This is the background for a drawing I made last year of Kurapika. To augment the background lighting I had a separate layer with Color dodge that seems to work quite well for both reflections and making light brighter and the surrounding of the lights and still keep the details of the painting.
I wonder how I will develop this technique in the future.

Athena Asamiya Peace Re Do Rough Back Ground
Still don’t know yet if I will add a proper background to this painting yet. Now that I have it at this point I have some ideas of what is possible, but I wanted to try this rough background out since I liked it on another painting I saw in my references. To go along with the background, I went for a rough painting style on Athena. There were a couple of changes I made to her face and hair. I wonder if you guys can tell? With this design I wanted a fun, moe feel that emphasizes curves.

Mai Shiranui vs Chun Li Line Art
Today’s drawing is of the two rival poster girls, Mai Shiranui and Chun Li. Chest vs Thighs. I’ve had this idea for number of years. I did a really rough background for it back in 2021 but I wasn’t quite ready so it lay dormant till now. This time I did the line art first and will probably end up using a different background this time.

Tomoyo Harada Toshiba Sugar Line Art
Here is a some line art of Tomoyo Harada holding a Toshiba Sugar RT-SW7 boom box. I used a magazine advert as reference. I can’t believe it, but this might be my first time drawing her. Strange because I have so many pieces I had planned for a couple of years now.
