Inktober 2023 Day 10 Madoka Kaname

We’ve made it to day 10. Today I drew Madoka. I drew and did the line art traditionally and then inked and hatched with Clip Studio Paint. Doing it digitally I can try out different ideas without having to start all over. The only other way I can think of doing it traditionally would be to buy transparent paper so I can preview how it will look like before I permanently add in ink.

Dragon Ball City Background

This will be a background for a drawing I did a couple of weeks ago. I wasn’t too sure what I wanted for the background but decided upon this one. I really like the way Dragon Ball makes their landscapes and backgrounds so I tried to emulate that.

Bamboo Forest Background

This is actually the background for a RE:do piece. It has changed quite a bit from my original try. I wonder if anyone will know what I’m remaking?

Cityscape Background

This is the background for a drawing I made last year of Kurapika. To augment the background lighting I had a separate layer with Color dodge that seems to work quite well for both reflections and making light brighter and the surrounding of the lights and still keep the details of the painting.

I wonder how I will develop this technique in the future.

Beach Background

A piece I’m working one and this will be the background. Summer is finally ending, so I should do a couple of pieces before we finally enter autumn.

Underwater Background

This is the background for a future painting. Surprisingly despite all the details and characters that I have incorporated to the final piece, it only took me two days to paint the background and the actual subjects. As for what this painting will end up bein, those who know, know.

This is the background for a piece I just finished. Background was actually quite easy and fast. Can’t believe I was so scared of doing these over the years.

Athena Asamiya Peace Re Do Rough Back Ground

Still don’t know yet if I will add a proper background to this painting yet. Now that I have it at this point I have some ideas of what is possible, but I wanted to try this rough background out since I liked it on another painting I saw in my references. To go along with the background, I went for a rough painting style on Athena. There were a couple of changes I made to her face and hair. I wonder if you guys can tell? With this design I wanted a fun, moe feel that emphasizes curves.
