Mr Karate and Ryo sparring V2

I was hoping to upload this piece a bit later but here it is.

Here is the first version:

There was potential in the idea but the first version was not quite there yet. I first re worked the background by also adding some more lighting details as well as changing the floor layout. As for Ryo and Mr. Karate I changed their postures a bit as well as the overall color with new lighting. Ryo’s face was a bit wonky so of course that had to be fixed.

Marin’s Room RE:do V2

I felt that my original painting could look so much better, but at the time I didn’t have the skills yet.

Here’s the original:

This time I went over the background first then started touching up Marin. I changed certain proportions and now with some new screenshots I took I also changed the outfit to fit the one from episode 7.

I’d say it looks much better now.

Dojo Background

For today’s update, it is a RE:do of a dojo background. Last time it was a bit flat so I wanted to play with the lighting and shadows as well as detailing certain areas more.

Comfy Usagi V2

I decided to make another attempt at this Usagi painting that I did back in 2021.

Looking back at it again, it looks completely different. I actually had this painting “finished” a couple of weeks ago. But after coming back to it I noticed various areas that I could continue to work on. It’s always great to come back to it with fresh eyes.

Bulmas Delivery Service V2

Looking at past works, I really wanted to give “Bulma’s Delivery Service” another try. It was so close and yet was still in a very rough state. Some areas were tilted and the background painting was also in need of another attempt with my current skills. I loved working on this painting again. The original artist for the Kiki’s poster is amazing.

Usagi’s room background

For some reason this week I wasn’t able to make any new art. Luckily I have a couple of paintings that I have ready but I like having a good long buffer so that I can keep uploading weekly. I just don’t like eating into it in case something comes up and I won’t have time to work on new paintings/drawings. Hopefully by next week I will have cooled down.

For today’s upload it is a RE:do background of Usagi’s room.

Mai Shiranui vs Chun Li V2

Here is an updated version of Mai and Chun Li. I originally wanted them to be surrounded by Sakura trees. My original idea was a bit different but because of the pose I had to change it to this patio one. But because it felt overwhelming when I first painted it, I left the flowers out. Surprisingly it wasn’t that hard. On top of that, I softened a few areas on both Mai and Chun Li while also adjusting the tone of the whole painting. Personally I think it looks much better now.

Cherry Blossom Patio Background

This is actually for a RE:do painting. It hasn’t been a whole year yet, but I feel that I have gotten better to the point of giving another chance to paint what I had in mind. Because of certain limitations and because the season wasn’t appropriate I left it half finished. But I will talk more on that when the time comes.

You’re Beautiful Kitagawa-san V2

I’ve been wanting to get back to this painting. Surprisingly only a few things were retouched. I remember being hesitant on adding a shadow to Gojo’s face. I used to be so scared of redoing parts that I messed up. It’s amazing how much growth has happened since then.

On another note, I really loved this scene. I’ve been keeping up with the manga, but I seriously need to go back to rewatching the anime.

Athena Asamiya Idol RE:do V3

Another year, another attempt at painting Athena Asamiya. This is the third rendition. I’m getting there. Looking at it know, there are a few details that I may come back to, but it’s a huge improvement from the last version.
