Here is the completed painting of Goku and Suno. I wanted to keep it simple but also add some more details. So I tried balancing both ideas as much as possible.

Snowy Steps background
A winter background for a painting that I pretty much have finished. But I might edit certain details when I come back to it. For the last couple of days where I live has been snowing and going below zero degrees Fahrenheit. It really feels like winters this year.

Komi Shouko Winter line art
For some reason I had the urge to draw Komi. It’s been a while since I last catched up with Komi’s manga. Last I remembered they went to New York I think? I think it’s time I go back to reading it.
I have a number of paintings waiting to be uploaded but I need to space them out between background and the finished painting. Which helps me rest my eyes on them so that I can give them a look over and edit as needed. Plus I really should do some more drawings and line art.
Because they are simpler to do I can create some time buffers so that I can practice and work on longer projects. My brother was telling me that I should do some traditional art, and I do want to. But it takes longer so I have been neglecting it lately. It’s sad just seeing my Nicker Poster colors cake up.

This is a RE:do of an old painting that had some really good potential but was quite rough. I changed the aspect ratio and added more details that I thought would work well. The mountains were quite different than the anime in the old version. I wonder why I changed them? So in this version I made them closer to how they are supposed to look like.

Mem-cho Winter stroll
I was fighting this painting till the end. I made so may edits at different times and now I’m not even sure how I feel about it. Did I push it too far? Not far enough? Should I simplify more? perhaps at a later date I will know the answer. But for now I will leave it as is.
I really like Memcho, I hope I did her justice. Either way I want to paint her more in the future.

Happy New Year 2024
The new year has started. Although last year sucked, I have hope that this year can be better. Let’s overcome things. Despite my gloomy appearance I am somehow an optimist. I keep falling but I will continue to get up and keep going if I think things are worth doing. Let’s keep fighting and make this year a great one. Hoping for the best for all of you.
On another note, I accomplished my goal of uploading every week last year. Hopefully I can continue to do so this year as well.

Reaching 2024
We’ve somehow made it to the end of this year. It sucked. Here’s hoping this new year brings better things. On the plus side, I made progress in my artist journey so it wasn’t all doom and gloom. This will be my final drawing for 2023. If I feel like it, hopefully tomorrow’s drawing will be more positive.

2B Pose RE:do
After being left waiting for a couple of weeks now, here is another RE:do with a painting I tried to do way back in 2018. At this time I was still learning to do digital. Even then I had already decided that Corel Painter was my preferred art program. As opposed to last time, I added a background. But even then it felt like it was still a bit lonely so I added 2B’s pod. I was a bit worried that it would be too intricate. Surprisingly it went by much smoother . I’m so glad I decided to add it.

Marisa Christmas Magic RE:do Speed Paint
Vegas kept crashing on me so I decided to change to Adobe Premiere. Now I have to learn how it all works but at the very least I can do most of the basic functions. Although I had to learn what I needed looking online. Things are not as intuitive as Vegas but oh well, I’ll learn. This is just a really quick speed paint. I’ll work on the new format for future paintings. I’ll upload Fubuki and Tatsumaki’s speed paint as soon as it’s done rendering.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Somehow I managed to finish the second Christmas painting. This is another RE:do. This time it’s from a really rough piece from back in 2018 when I was barely getting into digital painting. Thus it was quite rough. Five years of practice really shows.

Marisa Christmas Magic RE:do
Back in 2020 I made a piece of Marisa in a Christmas outfit, but it was really rough and I was still using my developing painting style along with my line art which don’t work well together at all. For that reason I believe it would be a good candidate to RE:do with my current skills. Overall I love the new version a whole lot more. I did make some changes to her expression, but I feel that it all still gives the same cool yet cozy Christmas feeling.

I recorded the process, should I just make a speed paint video of it? I’ve been quite busy and will probably continue to be so for a while. This means that I probably wont be able to start making the new format for a while. Since Christmas is fast approaching and it would be weird to upload the video a year later why not just upload something now?
If time permits, I will try to make another painting for Christmas. We’ll see.
