Had some ideas of what to draw today but decided to just draw the Alien boots. Something nice and simple isn’t so bad every once in a while.

"A Hopeless Dream Chaser"

This time I decided to draw something outside of the prompts. I wanted to work with hatching. For today’s subject I chose Kiki. Now that I think about it, I draw Kiki a every Inktober. To be fair, I saw a really cute reference picture that gave me ideas. I contemplated whether to draw the actual reference photo or modify it and turn her into Kiki. When I finally decided I also recreated the pose in clip studio to also see how the body would look. By chance the hand gestures also changed as I was posing but I really like it so I kept it. Can’t believe how useful the 3d models are. Now I’m contemplating buying the figma pose figures…
There is this artist named matayoshi that I want to learn from. The hatching is so simple and yet so beautiful.

On another note, I wanted to use bristol paper (the one I mentioned yesterday) but when I was looking at my old bristol book I noticed I only had a few papers left. But I also discovered an old drawing book by Strathmore that had a good number of pages left. Even more since I tend to cut them up into even smaller pieces. I felt that it was better quality then the other paper I used yesterday and gave it a try. And sure enough it didn’t have the same problem of my maru pen cutting the fibers… Who knew I had the solution to this problem all along. I should buy more of this paper when I get the chance.

Running a bit late but hopefully I wont have those problems tomorrow.
I usually just draw whatever I want for Inktober, but I like the prompts this year so I might be following some of them this time. Today’s drawing is Marin Kitagawa wearing a backpack.
After not drawing traditionally for a while, it took me some time to get used to it again. But this made me realize just how much I prefer making line art traditionally as opposed to digitally. There is some that is just more intuitive. Despite that though, I did make a couple of mistakes, some were so bad when I had to actually start inking that I had no choice but to redraw it all again. Hopefully bristol paper works better with the ink because the paper I ended up using always has the fibers get cut and released when I use my maru pen.
On another note, I finally had a chance to try out Clip Studio’s 3d model. I’m surprised it took me this long to actually try it. This will make drawing and coming up with ideas and poses much easier and better. After my brother informed me that all my drawings and paintings were all doing the same thing, I wanted to change things up a bit.
Here’s to the rest of Inktober.

The end of summer is finally here. Fall is just around the corner! I wanted to do more summer based art but I was bogged down with other things going on. Maybe next year.
I actually wanted to retry a couple of past paintings but since I ran out of time I will have to end it with Kodachi. This makes the third revision (and probably the last). Although version two wasn’t back I wanted to give it another try. I wonder though if people would even be able to tell the difference? I also edited the background but I kept forgetting that certain details would just get hidden behind Kodachi. With that in mind I decided to also add in the background.
Here is version 2:

On my first attempt I wanted to emulate the anime style coloring, but I was still learning about colors and just using digital art programs.
You can see it here:
It’s pretty rough…
I debated whether to go with the style I’m currently working on or a flatter anime style. I like both so it was a hard choice. In the end I went for something in between. This time I wanted to give some summer vibes.
I’ve been reading the manga, there is so much I want to draw and paint…

For those who don’t want to read too much:
If you have tried all other methods. An electronic connected to you network could be causing the issue. Disconnecting them from your network one at a time could help troubleshoot the issue. In my case it was my printer that is connected to my computer through ethernet but also was connected through Wi Fi. Turning off the Wi Fi (on the printer) fixed my issues.
For about a week I was having some internet issues where pages took very long to load, stuttering and pages refusing to load at all. I was worried that I had a virus or some other nefarious issue. But despite reinstalling my operating system multiple times as well as resetting my modem and router to factory settings it would still be giving me the same issues. Using windows security and Advanced System Care didn’t find anything either.
With that I decided to use Wireshark to see if I could detect any irregularities. I had to check a couple of tutorials but I won’t lie, I still have to actually learn how to use it. Having said that, after looking at the addresses that had too much wait times and packets sent. One thing I learned was that most of the addresses seemed to correlate to local and plug and play networks. AKA this was something connected within our house. To my luck on one instance I saw my printer scroll through the screen at some point. So on a whim I decided to turn off the Wi Fi on the printer. And as if by magic that fixed the issue. I’ve never had this issue before so this caught me by surprise. One thing that does have me curious is whether the router I bought from my ISP cannot handle the number of electronics anymore or if the printer specifically is causing the issue. Luckily I use my printer through ethernet so it doesn’t matter.
If you are having these issues and have tried all other avenues, just disconnect one electronic connected to your network at a time can hopefully help find find the one causing issues.

I work way faster if I just paint things out instead of using line art rough sketches I’ve noticed. And if I want to make line art from that I can just go over it at the end.
On another note, despite liking Accelerator I believe this is the first time I have drawn him. It only took over a decade…

I really like the dynamic between Nightfall and Twighlight. I feel really sorry for Fiona, I want her to be happy but let’s be real, Loid will end up with Yor. The cold appearance but flaming thoughts are such a great combination. I really want to do more Fiona paintings.
This time I decided to go for a flat painting style. I also wanted to play with lighting and shadows using layers like in anime. I wonder how far I can push things once I learn more.
