Currently on vacation. This time I went to Oregon with my brother and friend. This is my first time seeing the ocean. It’s amazing. Since I don’t have too much time to draw I’m trying out this new app that allows me draw with pixels. It’s called pixel studio. The amount of options is amazing. Although it’s kind of weird drawing with my finger since I apply multiple pixels at times.
I wonder if you can tell what I drew without telling you.

Updated version with some edits to the eye size and some slight tone edits to the mouth and lip areas.

I’m two days late, but happy birthday Sayumi! Wasn’t too sure what to paint this year, but I went with this. I used two reference photos from Sayu’s instagram.
References used: 7th photo and 9th photo (for the second link).

I wanted to try another pixel art piece, this time with Momoko. I used a photo of Momochi camping from her “Momochi Zukan” photobook as reference. I started with a 200×200 canvas, but it was a little too big for the effect I wanted. So decided to make it into a 100×100 instead.

This is based on a photo where Sayu is with an undisclosed friend, perhaps Kamei Eri… one can only hope. I decided to make a pixel art version using Pro Motion NG.

I’ve been itching to do another Naoko painting lately. While looking through my references I came upon what looks to be a poster that says “[Seikodo] Lady Naoko” (another poster did not have Seikodo on it) and some more text below that which I can’t quite read but I believe a part of it has Naoko’s full name. On the top right of the poster is some kanji that I translated as “girls bloom”. On the side is some small text that’s also hard to read (I think it has this text: “夕女は。悪いて大人になる” although the kanji is quite hard to make out since it’s so blurry)If anyone knows what this poster is for, do let me know. Just searching for Lady Naoko yields no results.

I wanted to make a Terminator drawing influenced by Akira Toriyama, although I noticed that my take on it is not as round so it doesn’t have that same fun aesthetic. But perhaps that was the best outcome since my take would look to much like Major Metallitron (Metarikku Gunsō) who is obviously inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator.

This painting is influenced by the poster of “Maboroshi no mizuumi”, it reminded me of the first episode of Ranma where we were shown how diligent Akane was in her training. Looking at the plot of the movie though, it has a rather sad plot. That was a bummer. I wanted to do an 80s anime style where I try to replicate Ranma 1/2s look.

I’m quite enjoying these latest chapters of Watamote and the depth they are giving to the side characters. What was a greater surprise to me was that the attention was directed towards Futaki, aka Emoji mkII. I always liked when she would appear every once in a while so this better look at her character and how she takes gaming super seriously to the point of training is somehow super motivational. For those of us who have a passion we take seriously, this is very relatable. And of course, I’m glad that things are making Koharu Minami look deeper into her personality and her actions. Hopefully she will grow as a person and her relationships with people will truly be genuine.
I decided to paint a scene of them in the weight room since it’s both comical and also a special place for this odd pair-up.

I finally got a chance to read some manga again, one of them being one of my favorites. Watamote. I quite like the cultural festival arc and the way some characters are being given some more attention and growth.
This piece though is based on volume 17 chapter 167 where Tomoko and Yuri are both studying with each other but their antisocial personalities make some rather humorous moments.
